One thing that's been proven pretty true over the years is that a person can kinda mask how they're gonna be in their first 100-300 posts. Over about 1,000 posts, you get an idea of what that poster's all about, and if they're responsible enough of a poster to be on here...it tells you whether or not their posts will more likely than not have quality and content. That's why the 1,000 number.Quality and content of posting is much more important than the number of posts.
Plus, as I told the Blue smoke fellow, there's plenty of other members enjoying the regular boards and waiting until their post count hits 1,000 in order to gain access to this board. That rule's been evenly applied across the board. The ONLY exceptions have been when posters have had other OT board members vouch for them, or in situations w/the switch-over where posters lost either part or all of their post count.
